Baytown City Council cancels the breakfast special meeting set for 5 p.m. Tuesday to discuss an election and the Baytown Police Association’s request for a $45 a month pay increase. Mayor Al Clayton said the election may be July 25, per association preference.
Jack Louis Holt Jr., 16, of 218 W Homan, may return home Monday or Tuesday from Texas Rehabilitation and Research Hospital in Houston where he is treated for non paralytic polio. His condition was fine, his mother said. He was admitted to San Jacinto Memorial and transferred to the Houston hospital. He was among the first Baytown children to get the Salk vaccine and is in a special research program. He also had one oral Sabin dose four weeks ago in San Antonio.
