Seniors dance at Baytown Community Center turns profit
Baytown Senior Center director Dave Weber reports the month’s dance earned just under 200 dollars from 86 attendees paying five dollars each for a three hour event starting at 6 p.m. Bert Owen provided music and decorations cost about 250 dollars. An Aug. 10 repeat is planned with the same time and venue.

Hartman Bridge wreck leaves Pasadena family dead in collision
Investigation continues after a late Saturday crash on the Fred Hartman Bridge killed Petra Banda Morales 46 and her two sons, Demedio 14 and Jeremiah 7, when their stalled car was struck from behind by a Baytown man driving a Chevrolet 3500 truck. A benefit fundraiser in Baytown moved to aid the family with funeral costs and expenses. Police seized the truck driver’s cell phone and obtained a blood draw order as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Four Bloods members sentenced in Galveston drug case
U S Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced that four members of the 4th Street Bloods were sentenced to federal prison after leading a drug conspiracy that supplied crack cocaine along the SH 146 corridor from Texas City to La Porte. Judge David Hittner gave Thomas Black 150 months and Jamie Finley 168 months. Cameron Sanford and William Sanford received terms for their roles.
