Burglary, thefts and a high speed chase hit Baytown weekend
Police log a break in at a West Francis residence where a Dell laptop and a six week old pit bull were stolen but later recovered. A theft attempt on a motorcycle and go cart in East Baker was thwarted when items were discarded along a roadway. A 67 year old woman led officers on a lengthy pursuit on North Main Street and Highway 146 before arrest and psychiatric evaluation. Additional break ins on Decker Drive and Eastpoint yielded cash and multiple electronics. Over the period Baytown police filed 47 offense reports with four assaults, eight burglaries of buildings, ten vehicle burglaries, five criminal mischief cases, two disorderly conduct, six thefts and eleven other incidents, plus twelve traffic crashes with two injuries.
