Charles Arthur Shires brother of Len and Carl Shires of Baytown died early Thursday after a fight with lung cancer. He had been living with relatives in Italy Texas. Shires was a former major league baseball player with the Chicago White Sox. Attends Funeral Hollis and Lonnie Watson of Baytown returned from Center where they attended funeral services for their mother Mrs J F Watson.

Lovering Named Head of Hospital Fund Drive Committee
Eugene H. Lovering, head of improved relations at Enjay Chemical Co., was named chairman of the business and industry committee for the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital Fund drive.
