Former Sterling coach heads for alma mater
Former Baytown Sterling coach Clanton Vaughan becomes head baseball coach at Channelview High School, his alma mater. Vaughan, 43, replaces Cory Bowyer and returns to a district where Channelview went 14-1 and won 21 5A, bringing back six returning starters and two left handed pitchers. He spent 14 years at Crosby High and five at Hastings before joining Sterling. Vaughan called coaching home and praised Channelview's athletic leadership and support.
