Harris County prosecutors say 25 year old Weylin Dawson Spradley admitted theft of services in a plea deal tied to a Baytown incident. He received 20 months in state prison day for day after reportedly posing as a police officer and presenting an official badge to a Baytown woman at her apartment on February 13.
Anahuac City Council welcomed Ottmar Schimek a former mayor and councilman to fill the alderwoman Maria Hightower’s seat. Hightower resigned after moving outside the city limits made her ineligible. Mayor Guy Robert Jackson announced the resignation at a Monday meeting she did not attend.
Several residents spoke at Monday's Old River Winfree city council meeting about persistent flooding and drainage problems. Linda Clark, eight-year resident, described extensive ground flooding while rain fell.
