Hunt Road widening in Baytown progresses toward August completion
Baytown is widening Hunt Road from two to four lanes between Main Street and Kohl's. The road is closed to all traffic except homeowners. City official Patti Jett says the road and traffic signal should operate by the third week of August, weather permitting, with final completion aimed for May 2019. The project ties to the San Jacinto Boulevard work to ease Garth Road traffic and will extend to John Martin with a four lane section and traffic signal. Once finished, shoppers from the west will reach malls, Academy and Kroger Market Place without using Garth Road.
