Appeals court delays ruling on Baytown Sun payroll records case
The Texas 14th Court of Appeals delayed publishing its payroll records ruling for the Eagle Point Golf and Recreation Complex after a rehearing motion. The Sun won an open records suit to obtain detailed payroll data from the city managed complex, with the court ruling the records fall under the Texas Public Information Act due to the management agreement with Strong Sports Management Inc. The city sought a rehearing over a footnote dispute and the Mont Belvieu council urged no further appeal while urging SSMI not to appeal.
