Sleepwear Labels Guide Fire Safety For Children
Consumer expert Marilyn Brown from Texas A&M Extension warns that many sleepwear sale items lack labels and cannot reveal flammability. Garments made before July 1972 may be unsafe, while post date items must carry a warning if flammable and care labels for flame retardancy are required by law. The FTC sets strict standards for children’s sleepwear up to size 6X to ensure flame retardant compliance.
