Eagle Drive road work ahead of schedule in Mont Belvieu
Off duty officers from multiple jurisdictions monitored traffic along Eagle Drive after July 4 as road construction by Angel Brothers moved traffic to two new lanes. Temporary ramps were removed on the east and new lanes opened on the west in one day, with city administrator Bryan Easum noting supervision gaps and costs totaling 11,900 of 28,000 budgeted for traffic enforcement.

La Porte names Corby Alexander city manager
Corby Alexander was appointed La Porte city manager effective July 2, succeeding Ron Bottoms who resigned in 2011. Interim manager Steve Gillett oversaw operations during the search from a pool over 100 applicants. Alexander holds an MPA from Texas A&M Bush School and previously managed Jefferson and Bonham, Texas, where he completed more than $7 million in infrastructure projects.
