Kingman Arizona reports six fatalities after a propane tank car explosion. The blast devastates a town of about 7 000 with firefighters and local authorities assessing the scene.
Police investigate multiple crimes including a car theft a surfboard theft and a burglary at a vehicle repair shop. Lloyd Harris reports his car valued at 600 missing from an Exxon parking lot with keys under the front seat. a surfboard valued at 80 was taken from a garage. money and audio tapes were stolen from Baytown Auto Clinic in a Thursday night theft. The auto shop door showed prying but was found locked.
Two Friday wrecks sent three people to area hospitals and a jail. Toni Hargrove, 21, and Kathy Pretzsch, 22, were taken to Gulf Coast Hospital after their car was broadsided by Philip Rummel of Houston who ran a red light at the Pruett intersection. Mabel Wright, taken to San Jacinto Methodist, and Ward Leverton, jailed for driving while intoxicated and with a suspended license, were involved in a separate three car crash on East James.
A laundry route salesman was treated and released from Gulf Coast Hospital after losing control of his route truck on North Main at Archer Road Friday afternoon and overturning it in a pasture.
