TV Show Losing Edge Over Competettion
NBC aired Emergency against All in the Family in January 1972 as a bold bid to topple the ratings leader. The Beeby era hit show faced competition from Bewitched and Alias Smith and Jones, while ABC experimented with Here We Go Again and The Partridge Family. Emergency! remained top 20 with strong action appeal and a lean episodic format following paramedics and hospital scenes.
