Dottie Prater of Baytown Texas wrote to Oklahoma Highway Patrol praising Tom Ballard Vinita Oklahoma for helping a Texas motorist after a traffic stop on June 25. Ballard invited the man and his family to his home and paid the fine, showing courtesy that impressed Prater who said the act upheld law with dignity and kindness. Prater provided her Baytown address and occupation at a DuMont plant in La Porte. Funeral services for B F Oliphant of Shira Texas were set for 2 pm Wednesday in Shira. Oliphant died at Houston capital after an illness. He is survived by his widow and one granddaughter Susan.

Crash Kills Four In Galveston-Beaumont Highway
A head on collision on the Galveston Bay highway near Port Bolivar killed four people and injured a Cedar Bayou couple who were near death. The dead include Ralph C.
