Garcia urges East Harris County improvements under Project Stars
Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Sylvia Garcia spoke to more than 100 Kiwanis Club of Baytown members at Goose Creek Country Club about beautification of East Harris County. The plan includes murals on storage tanks near the San Jacinto Monument, landscaping upgrades along Battleground Road, refurbishing landmarks, and a November 2007 bond to fund roads, bridges, schools, and parks for youth. Garcia cited the East Harris County Youth Program serving nearly 1,400 children and emphasized building a future for children over ego.
