Second year at new location makes a difference for race
The Texas Bud Heat Wave 5 Mile/SK run celebrated its second year in Chambers County with over 900 runners from the Houston area. The event moved to Wismer Distributing's new site, featuring a revised course and improved parking designed with NASA engineers. Top finishers included Sean Wade in the 5 mile, George Alvarado and Melissa Bit tick in the 5K, and Peggy Yetman winning the women’s 5 mile for the third year. Proceeds go to the Baytown Rodeo, with volunteer support praised by organizer Jim Ferris.
