Baytown July 4th Celebration draws crowds with music and fireworks
A Baytown Fourth of July festival features performances by Elvis tribute and country acts, a parade along Market Street, and a full lineup at Bicentennial Park from noon to 10 p.m. with acts including Jessica Zweback Sky Blue 72 and Cory Morrow. Baytown FCPEMSD approved a 939 500 dollar budget for 2007 08 and updates plans for a local Emergency Training Field. The 22 acre Exxon Mobil site near Bayway Drive will be purchased for 10 with mineral rights reserved and an option to buy back. environmental tests continue as an architect is hired. Construction is set at 350 000 with 125 000 for EMS radio gear 175 000 for vehicles and 86 680 for personnel. The project may exceed initial costs but aims to bring training closer to home.
