Iraqi group claims it harmed U.S. Marine in video threat
An Iraqi militant group Ansar al Sunnah Army in Qaim claimed online it fatally harmed captive U S Marine Cpl Wassef Ali Hassoun amid a series of insurgent attacks and threats. The site posted Hassoun’s death claim and warned of more beheadings if U S forces do not withdraw. Officials could not confirm the video or the group’s authenticity. Hassoun, a Lebanese-born U S resident, disappeared after a reported love-triangle scheme. The group cited its leader Abu Abdullah al Hassan bin Mahmoud.
