Striking Stone & Webster employees will return to work Monday morning at Gulf Oil’s Baytown plant where an expansion is underway. Carpenters Local 334 business agent Bert Gresham said negotiations stalled after a contract failed with the Associated General Contractors of Houston. Two Baytown projects, Gulf’s expansion and Sterling High School, were affected. A federal mediators’ effort continues with a 10 a.m. Monday meeting to resolve the dispute. Carpenters seek a 66 cent an hour raise over three years, or 20 cents per year, per contractor.
