Assailants Kill Saddam's Tribal Chief in Tikrit
In Tikrit Abdullah Mahmoud al Khattab, leader of Saddam Hussein's Bani al Nasiri tribe, was shot dead while traveling in his car amid rising violence in Iraq. His son Odai was wounded as attackers fled in a pickup. US authorities reported multiple attacks on American forces across the country as Bremer announced plans for an Iraqi interim administration and a 25 to 30 member political council.
