Summer Youth Director Keeps Baytonian Busy
Gene Lovering a 20 year old SMU student from Baytown is the summer youth director at Terrace Methodist Church in Houston with a 28000 member congregation. He leads Jr and Senior High Youth Fellowship services, Bible study, drama, and recreation activities and plans a Charlie Brown drama. He aims to strengthen youth spirituality and openness to talk. He has studied in Germany, hosts Costa Rican exchange student Mario Cortes, and is a junior sociology major at SMU considering ministry paths with Drew Duke or Asbury for theology school.

Northside Baptist Church hosts a Brotherhood barbecue supper on July 11 with guest speaker Rev. Willie Ridgell of Mount Calvary Baptist and the Men's Chorus.
