Fishing Report Highlights Texas Angling Tactics and Catches
The Associated Press notes quirky Texas sea and lake fishing trends with several big catches. Art Friery and companions hauled 25 whoppers off Freeport, while Mike Mayfield 12, of Midland, scored a 7 pound black bass at Bowie Lake. Water hyacinth treatment around Jasper and East Texas lakes aims to curb weed growth. For sportfishers, deep water angling remains strong in Trinity Bay, Galveston Bay, Freeport and Lake Houston, with speckled trout, redfish, drum, and sand bass reported. A turtle soup recipe circulates from the Game Commission.
