Baytown man pleads guilty to false FEMA claim after Rita
Daniel Darnell Kendrick admitted before U S District Judge David Hittner that he received 2000 dollars from FEMA in October 2005 by listing a Beaumont address he did not occupy. The actual Beaumont resident was denied aid. Sentencing set for April 25. up to five years and 250000 dollars fine possible. Federal, state and local agencies join Hurricane Katrina Fraud Task Force in such investigations. Report suspected disaster-relief crime via hotline or inspector general.
