Baytown Police adds two cadets with one certified officer
The Baytown Police Department hires three officers with one already certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education. Two cadets will attend the Baytown Police Academy in May, salaried during training, and sworn in about four months after courses begin. Officer Steve Adams, a former DARE officer, was rehired after an eight year gap and will fly in as number one on the civil service list. Adams does not attend the academy. Adams believes his prior experience and fresh training will aid his return to Baytown police work.
