Baytown Mayor outlines city beautification plan plans drive
Mayor Glen Walker told Rotarians that Baytown will focus on beautification though no city funds exist now. A beautification committee led by Rotarian Larry Hale will form subcommittees and begin with a general cleanup of homes and neighborhoods. The effort may gain funds next year if sales tax revenue exceeds expectations, otherwise ordinances may be enforced. Rotarians previously seeded $500 for Goose Creek Stream lake development, a plan stalled due to school district and hospital land ownership.
