Fort Worth Tex Jan 28 a teen aged parolee told probation officer L E Mc Gee that his fingerprints found at two burglaries were not his. He claimed the prints were not left because he wore gloves and it was cold, insisting he could not have left them.
Middleton declined a bid for a 1955 Ford Sedan, opting to keep his current car for another year. After police status discussions, Mayor Pruett urged dropping the matter, noting the city saves 2735 dollars plus federal taxes and Middleton preferred saving money over a new vehicle.

Four Baytown residents are among about 1,400 riders on the Salt Grass trail for the Houston Fat Stock Show. Victor Stastley a asphalt plant operator at Baytown Refinery and his son Murray 22 rode last year Mrs O B Roden and Martha Lee 16 daughter of Mr and Mrs B A Lee complete the Baytown group. The Salt Grass trail begins at 5 am Sunday at Arenham and riders expect to reach Houston that night. They will also ride in a parade Wednesday opening the show. Each rider brings bed rolls for sleeping in the open and helps fund a chuck wagon to feed them. They will attend several barbecues along the route.
A six alarm blaze ripped through two wholesale clothing buildings near Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Ice from freezing temperatures hampered efforts as embers threatened nearby structures and fire crews fought the blaze amid heavy traffic diversions and emergency mobilization.

Mark V. Marlowe received a city permit to drill a crii and well on West Miriam near Pruett. The City Council approved the permit Thursday night, marking the second such approval for Marlowe. If needed, the well could extend pay territory into an area not previously mechanized.
