Principal L B Pennington and Fire Chief Art Lintelman said no fire or damage occurred. two fire trucks responded and classes resumed by about 11:30 a.m. Separately, Harris County Commissioners Court ordered final right of way appraisals for Spur 330 and Spur 20 extensions in hardship cases, announced by Commissioner V Vo Ramsey.
Baytown City Council plans to appoint two members to advise the Library Advisory Board. The Thursday meeting will approve the appointments and set election dates for April and a possible runoff. A Ridgeway Subdivision incorporation study was also noted.
The city will install 146 rigid signal lights at three intersections including Texas Avenue with Commerce, and Pruett and Park. Existing signals at Lee Drive Market Street and Commerce Forrest will be upgraded or relocated. The budget approved the upgrades. starry poles and wiring are needed before completion.

Two women died when their car crashed into a pine tree felled by ice near Deweyville. Five bus accidents linked to the weather prompted precautionary suspensions.
Eastern Oklahoma remains iced over with Mn Mayes County seeing heavily loaded trucks struggle to climb grades. Temperatures ranged from near freezing in the north to above freezing in the south. Snow was forecast for western Oklahoma and a glaze of ice covered the region today.
Two men Capt. Becan B. Olmstead and John McKone, held seven months in Soviet custody, are expected to arrive in Washington and be met by President Kennedy at Andrews Air Force Base.
