Two Workers Buried As Ditch Bank Caves

A sewer ditch caved in on West Mann injuring two city workers assigned to a 10 inch sewer line from Amelia Street to the disposal plant. J W Breeding, 26, was buried and rescued after 15 minutes. he remained shocked. Ambulance driver collided with a car en route to the scene but no injuries reported. Public Works Director Grantham and superintendent Berry led rescue efforts as other employees shoveled the dirt away.
