Johnson hospitalized at Bethesda with respiratory infection
Washington AP report says President Johnson was taken by ambulance to Bethesda Naval Hospital early today with a respiratory infection described as a common cold with tracheal and bronchial irritation. He slept intermittently and was treated with antibiotics, aspirin, a cough suppressant, and a vaporizer. Doctor W J Gould joined Johnson’s physician. no oxygen was given. Mrs Johnson and Lynda Bird were at Camp David for the weekend.
