Mont Belvieu police investigated seven traffic accidents the week of January 12 to 18. Arrests included a 34 year old man for public intoxication and disorderly conduct at a Subway parking lot on January 12 and a 33 year old man for driving while intoxicated on January 13.
A man told police on Friday morning he was robbed and had his car stolen around 2 a.m. at Decker Drive and Garth Road after a stranger grabbed him and he woke up on the ground. His wallet was left behind with no cash, credit or debit cards missing, and the attacker was described as a scruffy Hispanic male about 6 feet tall. The stolen vehicle was found Saturday near North Commerce and West James. In a separate case, 65-year-old William Wallace Dean was identified as the resident found dead Thursday in a Northwood Drive apartment. foul play is not suspected and no cause of death has been determined.
A Houston man was arrested near I 10 and Thompson Road about 3:30 pm Friday for traffic violations after police found the ambulance he drove had an expired registration and no current license or insurance. A white 2002 Chevy Suburban was stolen from the 1400 block of Greenwood Drive around 1 pm Thursday, and another vehicle was reported stolen from a complex in the 3400 block of Garth Road Friday morning. A weed trimmer was stolen from a work trailer in the 4700 block.
Between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning several crimes were reported. A 17-year-old was arrested in connection with a burglary. Police listed stolen items including a pistol electronics medications money jewelry and a red 2002 Chevy Cavalier with license PYJ-543. Locations included East Sterling Avenue Decker Drive Peggy Avenue Park Street Bob Smith Road William Avenue West Humble Avenue and 200 block of West Humble Avenue.
