Bay Area Rehabilitation Center's impact on a family's disability journey
The Bay Area Rehabilitation Center in the Houston area grew from a 1948 program for cerebral palsy to a major outpatient hub. It transformed Kristina Dowling’s life through early therapy and sign language, enabled her to work part time at Walmart, and inspired family members to pursue disability services careers. Patsy Dowling’s volunteer legacy and the center’s Opportunity Center foster community partnerships and employment for people with disabilities, while Patsy’s Destiny trail marks her dedication.
