Wall Street slides as recession fears drive drop
Wall Street fell sharply amid rising recession fears after weak December retail sales and disappointing Citigroup results. The Dow lost 277 points to 12,501, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq down about 2.5 percent as volume rose and decliners led gainers.
