Highlands To Get Waste Aid
The Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority approved bids under compact agreements for multiple surrounding cities including Harris County Water Control and Improvement District 1 Highlands and Houston Pacinto City League City and El Campo. The authority will provide at least 2 percent funding for waste facility construction and improvement and authorized General Manager Jack Davis to start an implementation program if a plan to limit five day biochemical oxygen demand on the Houston Ship Channel is approved by the Texas Water Quality Board.
