Missing Baytown teen Briana McCormick sought by police

Baytown police seek help locating 14 year old Briana McCormick known as Bribbi who disappeared Monday after an on foot departure following a family disagreement. She is 5 feet 5 inches, about 110 pounds with blue eyes and blonde hair and was last seen on Illinois Street wearing a light blue Hollister shirt and jeans. Police and family urge anyone with information to contact Baytown Police at 281.

Chambers reviews FM 1409 extension in Chambers County

Chambers County Commissioners were updated on a four and a half mile FM 1409 extension crossing 24 pipelines. Dannenbaum Engineering's Larry Marr presented. he declined further questions. The $37 million Pass Through Toll Project partners with TxDOT, extending FM 1409 from Old River-Winfree to south of I 10, mostly in Precinct 3. May public SEE 1409 PAGE 10.

Former LP city manager may be hired in Baytown

Baytown City Council will consider hiring Ron Bottoms as deputy city manager tonight, filling a vacancy since Bob Leiper’s promotion. Bottoms, La Porte’s city manager from 2007 to 2011, would oversee capital improvements and departments such as public works, planning, engineering, parks and recreation, and communications, with a start date set if approved. The council also will vote on a broader dangerous animal classification ordinance, expanding from dogs to include other dangerous animals, while health officials note cats cause about half of stray bites despite more dog bite reports.

City Hall lobby ribbon cutting before council meeting

Baytown City Council members will host a 6 p.m. ribbon cutting for the remodeled City Hall lobby, part of renovations following a recent addition to the building. The event precedes the council meeting as work continues on the old section. A new animal danger law would let a judge declare dangerous status after a hearing if the owner objects.
