Injunction to block BayCoast sale to San Jacinto dropped
Baytown groups Jacinto Medical filed an injunction Dec 27 claiming a monopolistic position and higher prices if San Jacinto Methodist acquired BayCoast Medical Center. The suit named Baytown Medical Center Inc BayCoast Clarent Hospital Group and PHC CHC Holdings. Negotiations in good faith aimed to settle concerns and the injunction was withdrawn as talks continued. San Jacinto Methodist announced Dec 14 the purchase with plans to spend 3 to 4 million on Bay Coast renovations and continue ER services at both centers while finalizing a specialty division and closing the Decker campus.
