Mutscher Seeks Second Term as Texas House Speaker
Brenham native Mutscher, elected last November to his fifth term as state representative, faces no apparent opposition for Speaker. If chosen, he would be the fifth Texan in modern history to serve two consecutive terms as presiding officer. The 62nd Legislature convenes Tuesday in Austin with noon session and Speaker election as the main order of business.
