In a bridge problem, after West leads a heart and East covers the king, you win with ace and aim to reach the dummy to access three club tricks. If East plays king on your spade queen, you must use the diamond shift to force out the ace, creating two spades, two hearts, two diamonds and three clubs for the final counterplay.
