Texas Voter Registration Law Declared Unconstitutional
A three judge federal panel ruled the Texas annual voter registration statute and January thirty first cutoff unconstitutional. The decision cited UT Austin research showing higher turnout with permanent systems and suggested Texas could gain about 19 percent more registered voters.
