A 1935 Mercury Monterrey was stolen from Bayshore Motors in Bay Town after burglars broke a window and forced entry. Charles Seligman, owner, reported the car, still with its license plate and unrepaired since new, was driven away from the service area.
A Missouri Pacific passenger train struck a truck in ERAPELAND Texas on a Monday. The crash trapped six women and girls inside the vehicle, with injuries reported and death confirmed for several occupants. Authorities investigated the collision and the ages and exact identities of the deceased were being determined.

Joe Taylor Fergason, 46, a Curry Motor Co. mechanic in La Porte, died at 7 a.m. Sunday in a Houston hospital from suspected spinal meningitis after being rushed there last week. He lived in Pine Bluff addition, La Porte, formerly of Baytown, with services in Ranger, Texas, Tuesday. Survived by his widow Opal Ferguson, a daughter Louise Thorne, his mother Ora Bell Ferguson, and two sisters H A Rhodes and Annie Lockhart.

Owens fractured jaws and legs with lost teeth. his wife is seriously ill with glandular fever in the same hospital.
Roberta of Oak Addition limped into a Beaumont service station and told police he had been kidnapped Saturday night in Baytown. He described two white men who forced him into the trunk of his car, drove him across East Texas, and released him near Silsbee before dawn Sunday. Roberts, a laborer from 1209 Johnson Street, identified the men and said he was driven to Beaumont for help.
Herbert Charles Smith, 51, accused forger and car thief, jailed in Daytown on forgery charges after his stepdaughter cashed a forged check. Police say federal charges may follow. Montgomery police cite wide interest from departments nationwide. Smith claims innocence and asks for exoneration.
