Baytown City Manager Reports "Good" State of City
Baytown city manager Gary Jackson said the city remains in a good state with expenditures shrinking from 2002-03 to 2003-04 and robust growth, issuing 190 permits for new construction. He highlighted public safety, health personnel, infrastructure, and economic development as major budget areas. The Garth Road traffic signal plan should be complete by February, though early delays risk gadlock during holidays. Spur 330 is complete and Grand Parkway projects are planned. The year included shedding 10 city positions, underscoring ongoing personnel importance to service delivery.
