P and Z backs drilling overlay for Goose Creek field
Baytown Planning and Zoning recommends a drilling overlay district for the Goose Creek Oil Field and heavy industrial zoning with a special use permit for other city areas. The plan requires public hearings, sets 750 foot setbacks to closest equipment, and grandfathering for existing wells with disclosures. The idea goes to the City Council with a Jan 9 work session and a Jan 23 public hearing.
