Kelvin and Christy Dunnam faced a difficult journey as their daughter Emma, born after a healthy boy and girl, regressed developmentally by age two. Diagnosed with a developmental delay possibly linked to hearing or autism, Emma first received ear tubes. The Dunnams started a 501c3 charity named Emma's Hugs to aid families with special needs children.
