Sterling cheer squad places sixth at Nationals in Orlando
Sterling High School cheerleaders, led by coach Nancy Jacobs, finished sixth in the 36-team Small Co-Ed Division at the National Cheerleading Championships held February 7 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando. The team performed after a music cutout, retook the stage, and earned school history's best finish. Senior Erin Salazar and others described adrenaline and pride in overcoming the setback and delivering a high energy routine lasting 2 1/2 minutes with tumbling stunts dance and jumps.
