The Baytown City Council will hold a regular session Friday instead of Thursday evening. Mayor Lee Ligggett and several members plan to be in Austin Thursday for a legislative hearing on a bill proposed by Harris County Rep. Paul Floyd.

Leo B Corey aged 32 and Humble Oil and Refining Co Baytown Refinery's oldest annuitant died at 6:36 am Tuesday at his son's home in Houston. Survivors include two sons Claude J Corey and L B Corey Jr a daughter Mrs 4 B Glass 12 grandchildren six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. One of Baytown Refinery's first employees he joined in 1918 in the carpenter department and became shop foreman.

An extended sounding on North Main Street was set off by telephone cable difficulty during repairs. E Q Camhern of General Telephone Co. of the Southwest explained the cause. Assistant Fire Chief William J. Taylor cut off the alarm. Fire crews also responded to two other calls Tuesday night including a stand by at a power line on Cherry Street and a two car blaze on Oklahoma Street with minor damage from back firing.
Lee College President Roy Comsaux announced a March deadline for the Community Loan Fund to aid students in completing education. The fund, organized April 16, 1963, under Dollars for Diplomas, will assist with National Defense Loans and job placement. funds will be estimated next month as donations totaled about $5,000 last year.
