Man Bound For New Orleans Ends Up In Baytown's Jail
Houston man Terre Lee Wentworth, 27, bound for New Orleans, ended up in Baytown jail after car theft and traffic incidents. He allegedly stole a truck from a telephone company service crew, drove a pickup into a car on Bayway Drive, abandoned the truck, then hijacked a station wagon before being stopped by Liberty County deputies in Dayton. He was barefoot at arrest and claimed to be dismissed from Houston jail the previous day.

A Highlands residents group urged Baytown City Council to pass on first reading an annexation ordinance for protection. Mayor Pruett named Councilman Lacy Lusk to confer with the group and report by March 15. The council previously approved a four square mile annexation including Decker drive and Lakewood Brownwood areas, with about 150 homes and 500 residents. Final passage planned at the next meeting.
