February coastal fishing steadies through milder days
Bink Grimes reports on a February fishing spell along the Texas coast. Warm water near 60 degrees and light southeast winds sparked solid trout action in East Matagorda Bay and nearby systems. After a front with northeast wind cooled waters, anglers found limited bites but continued to catch trout, redfish, and other species by wading mud and shell, with guides noting the ongoing value of soft mud flats and drifting tactics.
