Funeral services for Albert Johnnie Busch Sr., longtime Baytown grocer since 1927, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Earthman Chapel with Rev. Edwin T. Summers officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery. He was survived by his widow Ambry Summers Busch, two sons Albert Jr. and Robert, daughter Mize Carolyn, siblings, two grandchildren, and was a member of Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge No.1 and Grace Methodist Church.

Humble, Oil & Refining Co has acquired about 450 acres near Moss Landing, Monterey County, two miles southeast of the unincorporated town. The site is designated for industrial use in the county master plan and facing Pacific Gas and Electric land and Kaiser plant. A use permit is sought to begin engineering surveys and planning an ultra modern refinery with about 50,000 barrels per day capacity, costing over 50 million dollars and taking more than a year to complete.
