Former Baytonian C T Samuelson Dies in Houston
C T Samuelson, longtime Baytown resident and noted naval architect, died in a Houston hospital at age 73 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St John the Divine Episcopal Church, River Oaks Blvd., with Rev. Thomas W Sumners officiating. He and his wife and daughter lived in Baytown years ago. survivors include his wife, daughter Linda, and sister Agnes Bergstrand of Gothenburg. He helped launch 200 ships in World War II and pioneered electric welding in the Gulf Coast shipyards. He owned Samuelson Shipyards in Beaumont and served as general manager of Brown Shipbuilding Co. at Green's Bayou.

The crash near Miami Tuesday prompted CAB and FBI teams to work behind tight security as a helicopter airlift of bodies was delayed to await the recorder box. Work Begins On Crosby Post Office Building
Work started Tuesday on construction of a new Crosby post office building. Old Market Corp of Houston is building it for the Office Department at $4,500 a year under a one year lease. The site is just north of Crosby by State Bank on Avenue B. The plan calls for about 13,600 square feet with a parking area. Mrs. Fred Lintelman is Crosby postmaster.
