Paris reports twenty people killed and 38 seriously injured in a head on crash of two diesel trains near Lisle Sur Tarn, about 30 miles northeast of Toulouse. A Pan American Stratocruiser crewmember John Harris 28 was sucked out of the open cabin door at about 10000 feet near Idlewild airport as the aircraft approached Long Island. Twenty two passengers and ten crew watched in horror. five crew tried to close the door before landing. Police searched for Harris while airline officials reviewed the door mechanism and wind suction.
