He may continue on the committee but cannot remain an HGAC representative as an unelected official.
Goose Creek hosts the dedication ceremony for Victoria Walker Elementary School at 5 30 p m in the school gym. The program starts at 6 15 p m with free public attendance for Baytown residents. Located at 4711 Seabird St off Garth Road north of I 10, it is the district 14th WALKER elementary, funded by the 2005 bond. Sue Chatham becomes the first principal, the school named for educator Victoria Walker at a February 26 2007 meeting.
The 150th sesquicentennial celebration opens at 10 a.m. on the east steps of the Chambers County Courthouse in Anahuac with a national anthem performance by local high school bands. Students display a pictorial collection and read winning essays while a pecan tree is planted and a governor’s proclamation is read. Free hotdogs follow. officials urge residents to attend this milestone event.
