Funeral services set for Samuel Hargrave of Mont Belvieu
Samuel Leroy Hargrave 68 of Mont Belvieu died Wednesday in a Houston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Anahuac with Reverends and Rexaiel Ang. He is survived by his wife five daughters five sons and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arrangements are by Sterling Funeral Home of Anahuac.

A Baytown woman Helen Porter of 2403 Kipling was charged with negligent collision and failure to stop and give information after a 12:50 a.m. Wednesday crash on West Defee near North Felton. She struck a parked car, pushing it into a 1974 Pontiac from Baytown Motors, injuring Porter and sending a vehicle across Defee.

Rites Held For Anahuac Student Verna Turner
Verna Susanne Turner 16 daughter of Mr. and Mrs Vernon Turner of Anahuac died after a long illness in a Beaumont hospital. Services were held at First Baptist Church Anahuac with Rev Rufus Zachry officiating. Burial followed in Anahuac Cemetery. She was a high school sophomore and a member of the band and the Rainbow Girls. Survivors include her parents a brother and sister all of Anahuac and grandparents Mrs H A Turner and Mr and Mrs Jay Lewis also of Anahuac. Pallbearers were Floyd Dwight Edmounds Leslie Turner Jimmy Turner Kim Turner Gregg Turner Curtis Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Anahuac High School sophomores and band members.
